Registration is now open for the 2018 GCPA & GHO Annual Joint Conference at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA from Wednesday to Friday, November 7 - 9, 2018. Please note that the November 7, 2018 date is only for those who have registered for a pre-conference. Details about this can be found below. This conference is open to all student affairs practitioners, faculty, staff, and students.
This year the GCPA & GHO Annual Joint Conference Planning Committee is happy to announce a pre-conference designed to discuss compassion fatigue in the field of higher education on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 12pm to 5pm. The facilitator, Dr. Jill Lee-Barber, is a licensed psychologist in Georgia who is a graduate of Georgia State University with a B.A. in English and an M.S. in counseling. She received a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Houston. Dr. Lee-Barber does not have a specific clinical issue that she particularly enjoys treating; she enjoys working with people and borrows a line from Walt Whitman: “Nothing human is alien to me.”
The pre-conference is $40 plus a small processing fee, which is not included in the cost of the general conference registration. Lunch is included in the $40 fee. There are only 30 spots available, so if you are interested make sure to register soon!
Registration has been extended until November 1st. and will be $120 plus a small processing fee!!
This covers lunch (Thursday and Friday), dinner (Thursday), social entry, etc. After October 12, 2018, registration will close and you will not be able to register for the conference. If we have not reached capacity by this date, we will provide an option for on-site registration. Acceptable forms of payment include electronic payments through the Eventbrite page or checks.
